Damir Kamenar - I Questioned Nothing

I Questioned Nothing

About the Exhibition

In Damir Kamenar's drawings, nature is both a scene and a rival. The artist approaches it without idealization – he observes it as a self-renewing system, elusive and irreducible to human measure. In these densely interwoven lines, shadows, and white paper, a tension emerges between order and chaos, meditation and unrest. In his works, Kamenar doesn't record the landscape but the process of observation, the struggle with perception and the limits of cognition. His snowy surfaces, shadows of forest trees, and details of the earth transform into a space between light and darkness – a space where the artist, as he says, 'questions nothing,' but allows nature to speak in its own language. Ink drawing and combined techniques become instruments of precision and introspection. Through them, a new kind of landscape is formed: one that doesn't offer peace, but a quiet confrontation with what is. Kamenar invites us to slow down our gaze, to question our own relationship with nature and its silence, which in his works is not absence, but – the presence of everything.
